Eastern Legacy
Eastern Airlines was originally founded in 1926 and quickly rose to prominence, becoming one of the “Big Four” domestic airlines in the United States by 1930. The airline maintained this status until ceasing operations in 1991. In 2010, Dynamic International Airways was established, operating Boeing 767 aircraft. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in our history.
In 2014, Eastern Airlines was resurrected with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, though this venture was short-lived, and the assets were transferred to Swift Air in 2017. Dynamic International Airways acquired the Eastern Airlines name in 2018, rebranding itself and continuing the legacy. In 2022, Eastern Airlines was certified as an ETOPS carrier and added Boeing 777-200 aircraft to its fleet.
Most recently, in 2023, Eastern Air Holdings acquired Hillwood Airways, rebranding it as Eastern Air Express and relocating our headquarters to the historic TWA Administrative Building in Kansas City.
